Smart nutrition is healthy nutrition

In the midst of twentieth century our taste buds have matured with the society to an extent where we need new foods daily to not to get bored with the same taste. We eat healthy but mostly fatty food to settle our appetites. The fats can get accumulated and cause coronary heart diseases in the long term. Can we compromise our health for just making our taste receptors happy for a few seconds? Or can we have healthy foods, which can be tasty enough? Let’s talk about some foods that will be healthy and as well as taste good. 

Antioxidants

Antioxidants are present in our bodies and some are taken through the foods, they inhibit oxidation. Due to poor nutrition, when free radicals are more than antioxidants in the body, imbalance occurs, resulting in damaged cells, activation of harmful genes in the DNA and also cause an overload in the immune system. To prevent this situation from happening, healthy foods, such as those which contain Water and fat soluble vitamins are to be taken in. Examples of these foods include Goji berries, Blue berries, dark chocolate, pecans, kidney beans and etc. 

Nuts

Nuts are tiny nutritious foods contained in a shell. They are considered to be one of the healthiest foods on the planet earth. Almonds are most healthy of all. They are energy dense and contain nutrients such as magnesium, vitamin E, iron, calcium, fiber and riboflavin. These nutrients overall help to keep the cholesterol levels in the body normal. Almonds can be eaten raw and as well as can be added to existing foods such as adding almonds to a chocolate cake to make it a healthy food. It can also be used to decorate or garnish a food. 

Lentils

Lentils are also considered as one of the healthiest food known. They require a long cooking time but the benefits outweigh this con.  They provide proteins used for growth and repair in the body. Lentils can be added to water and sprouted which makes them a delicious healthy foods. Chilies, salt and sauces can be added to them to enrich the flavor. 

Fruits

Fruits are not only healthy, but also a ready-made delicious food. Apples are high in fiber, vitamin c and plenty of antioxidants. Bananas are high in potassium. Oranges have a high content of Vitamin C. Strawberries are low in carbohydrates and calories, and they provide the body with Vitamin C, Manganese and fiber. 

Vegetables

Vegetables are also healthy food. They can be cooked in a variety of ways and are a source of various nutrients. They keep a person upright and moving. Green vegetables such as spinach and broccoli are accepted as one of the healthy foods in the world. 

Dairy foods

Dairy foods are fatty and should be taken in less quantity. However they do, complement our health in many ways. Meat is eaten for its protein content and other nutrients. Egg can be used as a compliant with the foods. Milk is drunken for strong bones and teeth. Butters and oils should be used sparingly, but they provide with essential Omega 3 and Omega 6 to the body required for proper brain functioning.  

In conclusion, it can be said that eating smart is eating healthy. Make foods interesting to eat by combining various textures and flavors. Smart nutrition is healthy nutrition.
